About European Centre Golf Club

European Centre Golf Club sits beside the official geographic centre of Europe, about 40 minutes north of Vilnius. It’s the quietest of Lithuania’s championship courses, uncrowded tee sheets, scenic surroundings, and the kind of round where you’ll often play through with nobody behind you.

It’s not the strongest layout in Lithuania, that’s The V Golf Club at Vilnius Grand Resort, but it adds something to a longer trip that the other courses can’t: a different pace, a different setting, and a slightly absurd story to take home. The “we played at the geographic centre of Europe” line is a dinner-table favourite.

Getting there

  • From Vilnius airport (VNO): about 40 minutes by car
  • From Vilnius city centre: about 50 minutes
  • From other Vilnius-area courses: 40–60 minutes

For groups I organise, transfers between courses are included.

What to expect

  • Layout: 18-hole parkland course, gentle terrain
  • Difficulty: Moderate, playable across handicaps
  • Conditioning: Good through the main May-September season
  • Surroundings: Quiet countryside, very few other players

How it fits into a Lithuania trip

European Centre is the round I’d add to a longer trip, 4+ nights, once you’ve played the headline courses. For shorter 3-night trips, Capitals Golf Club and The V Golf Club usually take priority because of their convenience.

If you’d like European Centre Golf Club in your Lithuania itinerary, fill in the trip brief and I’ll build the rotation around it.

Common questions

Frequently asked about European Centre Golf Club.

Why is it called European Centre Golf Club?
The course sits beside the official geographic centre of Europe, calculated by the French National Geographic Institute and located just north of Vilnius. There's a small monument marking the spot. It makes for a slightly absurd, very memorable round.
Is European Centre Golf Club worth playing?
Yes, especially if your trip is 4+ nights and you've already covered The V Golf Club and Capitals. It's the quietest of Lithuania's courses, scenic, and never crowded. Not the strongest layout in the country, but a genuinely enjoyable round.
How far is it from Vilnius?
About 40 minutes by car from Vilnius airport, slightly longer from the city centre. It's the furthest of the Vilnius-area courses but still well within an easy day trip.
