A Lithuania golf weekend, in one paragraph
Thursday-to-Sunday is the sweet spot for a Lithuania buddy trip. Flights from most Northern European cities are 1–2 hours, the courses around Vilnius are all within 40 minutes of the airport, and Vilnius Old Town gives you somewhere worth coming back to after the round. Two championship rounds is the comfortable rhythm, three if your group is keen. I run these trips personally; for the wider context see Golf in Lithuania.
Sample itinerary
Thursday, arrival
- Afternoon flight into Vilnius (VNO)
- Private transfer to your hotel in Vilnius Old Town
- Welcome dinner in the Old Town (I’ll book it, or leave it open)
Friday, championship round
- Morning round at The V Golf Club at Vilnius Grand Resort, Lithuania’s strongest layout
- Lunch at the clubhouse
- Transfer back to Vilnius, free afternoon
- Evening: craft beer tour through the Vilnius brewery scene, or dinner reservation
Saturday, second round
- Round at Capitals Golf Club or European Centre Golf Club depending on group preference
- Free afternoon and evening, basketball game if there’s one on, or a long dinner
Sunday, departure
- Leisurely morning, late checkout
- Optional half-round or driving range session before the flight
- Transfer to the airport for the early-afternoon departure
What’s included
For the standard 3-night weekend I personally arrange:
- Hotel: 4-star options in Vilnius Old Town (the recommended default) or a course-attached resort if you’d prefer
- Tee times at two courses, with the rotation matched to your group’s level
- Private van transfers between airport, hotel, and both courses
- One organised evening: your group’s pick from craft beer tour, basketball, or a chef-recommended dinner
- Direct WhatsApp line to me for the duration of the trip
Flights and any additional dinners are on you. Everything else is taken care of.
Why this format works
The 3-night Thursday-to-Sunday version is the trip that buddy groups settle on after one trial run. It’s short enough to not eat a full week of holiday, long enough to play two real rounds with proper evenings between them, and the budget lands at well under half what the same trip would cost in the Algarve.
The other reason: the post-golf side of the trip is genuinely worth doing. Vilnius Old Town is a UNESCO site with a real food and beer scene, 20 minutes from two of the courses. Groups that go expecting “golf plus a bit of sightseeing” usually come back saying the evenings were the surprise.
How to book a Lithuania golf weekend
The fastest way is to fill out the trip brief and mention “Lithuania golf weekend”. I’ll come back within a couple of days with a tailored quote, courses, hotel, transfers, dates, and a sample evening. There’s no planning fee; the trip price covers it.
