A Lithuania golf trip from Sweden, in one paragraph
Stockholm to Vilnius is 90 minutes. Lithuania has five championship courses your Swedish golf-club friends almost certainly haven’t played. Total trip costs land at roughly half what the same trip costs in Mallorca or Andalucía, and the post-golf side of the trip, Vilnius Old Town, with a real food and craft beer scene, gives you somewhere proper to eat and drink between rounds. I run these trips personally; Swedish bookings tend to come from groups who’d been alternating Mallorca and Algarve for years and wanted somewhere different for the next outing.
Why Swedish buddy groups make this trip
Sweden has one of Europe’s deepest golf cultures, half a million registered players, more 18-hole courses per capita than almost anywhere, and the buddy-trip tradition that goes with it. After enough Mediterranean rotations, the question becomes “where else?” Lithuania is the most consistent answer for groups whose criteria are something like:
- Cost: green fees of €60–€80 are roughly half what you’d pay at a comparable Iberian resort course, and the total package comes in well below an Algarve or Mallorca trip
- Flight time: 90 minutes from Stockholm, less than the drive from Göteborg to Båstad
- Originality: a destination your Swedish golf friends will ask about
- Logistics: direct daily flights from Stockholm, simple EU travel, English at every course
What the trip looks like
Most Swedish groups settle on one of these:
3-night weekend (Thursday–Sunday): two rounds around Vilnius, Old Town hotel, one organised evening. €650–€900 per person not including flights.
4-night extended: three rounds, one or two of them at higher-end courses, hotel stay split between Vilnius and either a course-attached resort or National Golf Resort on the Baltic coast. €1,000–€1,400 per person.
See Lithuania Golf Weekend for the weekend version’s detailed itinerary.
What’s included
For every trip I personally arrange:
- Hotel: 4-star Vilnius Old Town options, course-attached resorts, or a hybrid
- Tee times across two or three courses
- Private van transfers: airport ↔ hotel ↔ courses, no rental cars
- One organised evening: craft beer tour, basketball game (Lithuania is unreasonably passionate about basketball, Swedish groups appreciate it), or a chef-led dinner
- Direct WhatsApp line to me for the trip duration
Flights from Stockholm, Göteborg, or Malmö are on you. Everything in Lithuania is on me.
How to plan it
